PHOTO: The moment Arsenal striker almost cost his team victory

Olivier Giroud simply lost his head during the game with QPR today.

Arsenal were cruising at 1-0, under no trouble against QPR, and seemingly on their way toward a simple victory.

In fact the only real question was by how much Arsenal could win the game.

But one player completely lost his head and almost put their certain victory at risk. Olivier Giroud, who has been very important to the team since returning early from a broken leg, was charging through on goal in challenge with QPR defender Nedum Onouha.

Onouha gave him something of a push in the back as they closed in on the onrushing Robert Green and it clearly angered the Frenchman.

Known for his charming demeanour on and off the pitch there was little charming about the way he charged at Onouha and clashed heads with the player, who immediately went down.

It was a reckless and thoughtless moment from the French international and the red card that followed was thoroughly deserved.

He must be thankful it did not affect his team's performance - as Arsenal still went on to win the game.
