Newcastle fans react on Twitter to Ayoze Perez's performance against Manchester United

Newcastle fans singled out Ayoze Perez for praise after their side lost 3-1 to Manchester United.

Newcastle's good run of form has really come to an end, as their 3-1 loss to Manchester United made it three defeats in a row for Alan Pardew's men.

Two first half goals from Wayne Rooney gave United a 2-0 lead, before Robin van Persie made it three on 53 minutes. Substitute Papiss Cisse did pull one back for Newcastle from the penalty spot, but it was another difficult day for manager Alan Pardew.

The result pushes the Magpies down to 10th place in the Premier League table, and the fans are piling the pressure back on manager Pardew.

Fans had little good to say about the performance, but one player stood out - Spanish striker Ayoze Perez, whose reputation grows by the game.

21-year-old Perez joined Newcastle from Tenerife this summer but wasn't expected to make much of an impact; yet now, Perez is Newcastle's greatest attacking threat, scoring four goals in just nine starts.

Supporters took to Twitter to praise Perez, suggesting that not only was he their only bright spark at Old Trafford, but also that he deserves to be playing for a better team than Newcastle.

Here are some of the reactions from Twitter as Newcastle fans reacted to Perez's display.
