Manchester United morning news: Van Gaal on title bid and Januzaj's future

A round up of news stories this morning about Manchester United.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says the club’s aim this season is to win the Premier League title.

United are currently ten points behind league leaders Chelsea, but LvG believes his side can pull it off.

“Our goal is still to be the champion at the end of the season. It is always to be first,” said the boss.

Van Gaal has also played down the possibility of young winger Adnan Januzaj heading out on loan.

Everton and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with potential moves for the Belgian, who has struggled for game time under the Dutchman.

“No. He is a player of United,” replied LvG when asked whether Januzaj was heading for an exit.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has been nominated for the England under-21 Player of the Year award.

Shaw has made a decent impact since arriving in a big money move from Southampton last summer, where he formed a reputation as one of the brightest talents in English football.

His progress this season has been hampered by injury and concerns over his match fitness at the start of the season.
