Liverpool ground out a 1-0 win against Burnley earlier today.
Liverpool secured a 1-0 win against Burnley earlier today in what was by no means their best performance of the season.
The Reds were left thanking Raheem Sterling who scored the only goal of the game in a tense 90 minutes, which has left Brendan Rodgers grateful for three points but hungry for a more comprehensive display this weekend.
Here are our player ratings for the game.
Jones – N/A
Subbed off early, with Simon Mignolet replacing him.
Toure – 6
A solid game. Dealt with difficult situations well, lack of pace told at times.
Skrtel – 6
Burnley did well to always ensure that he was under pressure and in the first half, he looked like he might make a mistake.
Sakho – 8
Superb. Can’t be faulted for this performance. He was calm and played the ball out from the back well.
Henderson – 6
Continues to do an okay job in an unfamiliar role. Nothing more, nothing less.
Markovic – 6
Gave the ball away too frequently, which will leave fans and his manager annoyed.
Lucas – 7
Deserves praise for the way he got about and worked hard in midfield. He tried to cut out danger before it developed.
Gerrard – 6.5
Captaincy skills are obvious, but he looked tired and exposed by pace at times from Burnley’s midfield.
Lallana – 6
Worked hard but didn’t really have any creative and attacking influence on the game.
Sterling – 7
Played well again as the sole striker. The club are coming to rely on him to get them out of difficult situations.
Mignolet – 6
Looked shaky with the ball at his feet at times. His confidence is certainly low.
Can – 6
Showed great composure and maturity in an unfamiliar defensive role.
Lambert – N/A
