Liverpool face a very important 2015 for a number of reasons, with manager Brendan Rodgers facing some very difficult dilemmas.
The first half of this season hasn’t gone according to plan for the club as they find themselves in the bottom half of the table, behind several rivals in the race for a top four place.
So what sort of New Year resolutions should Rodgers be setting for the side?
Let’s get into the top six quickly
Liverpool have a little bit of momentum from their last two games and it’s important they try and use the festive period to attack the top six in the Premier League. That’s the group they should be competing with for a top four place.
Let’s try and win the Europa League
Liverpool will be disappointed to have dropped out of the Champions League but the Europa League represents a chance for the team to get back into that competition for next season. They need ti mount a serious challenge to win it.
Let’s get more from Mario
Rodgers should make it a New Year resolution to get more out of Mario Balotelli. He’s been awful since his £16 million move from AC Milan, but he can be equally symbolic in terms of helping the side move forward. If he can find his best form, Liverpool should fly up the league.
