Wayne Rooney has his say on Radamel Falcao

Falcao celebrates

Manchester United's skipper has been speaking after the club's on-loan striker netted at the weekend.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has been speaking about his teammate and fellow front-man Radamel Falcao.

The on-loan Colombian scored his second goal of the season in the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday, and it is hoped he now goes on to fill his boots in the second half of a campaign that holds much promise for Louis van Gaal’s side.

In an interview with MUTV later published by the club’s official website, United’s captain said, “It was great for Falcao to get on the score-sheet and it was a great header.

“I’m pleased for him and I hope he continues that into the next few games.”

Those games Rooney referred to start on Boxing Day, when his side welcomes Newcastle United to Old Trafford.

United then take on Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City in the league before a FA Cup encounter with Yeovil Town.

Falcao is yet to fire on all cylinders since he arrived from AS Monaco but now back to full fitness he will be hoping to show just how deadly he can be in front of goal…and possibly earn a permanent move in the process.
