The remaster of the classic survival horror is coming as a cross-buy, but only if you put your money down before the game releases.
Capcom is offering the upcoming HD remake of Resident Evil as a cross-buy for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, but only if you pre-order the game
Cross-buys on PSN allow you to get access to different versions of a game across Sony’s platforms with a single purchase, in this case buying the PS3 version also lets you grab the PS4 version and vice versa.
“Pre-orders for the remastered Resident Evil are now live on the PSN Store, and holy cow: they’re offering cross-buy in North America,” reads a post from Capcom. “Pre-order the game on PSN, and you’re entitled to both the PS3 and PS4 versions.”
Resident Evil HD is a reworking of the GameCube version of the game that came out in 2002, itself an upgrade of the original PlayStation game. In the new remake, players can choose between the original 4:3 or new 16:9 aspect ratio, with those on PS4, Xbox One and PC able to enjoy the game in 1080p resolution with 5.1 surround sound.
Resident Evil will be make its latest comeback on 20th January 2015 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3.
