The Brazilian stopper has the option to extend his deal with the Viola, but is considering his future carefully amid transfer speculation.
Liverpool have had a number of problems this season, with the team’s first-choice goalkeeper an issue that Brendan Rodgers needs to resolve.
With Simon Mignolet struggling for form and confidence, the Anfield side’s manager has opted to replace the Belgian with understudy Brad Jones.
The Brazilian has grown in stature since moving to Italy in 2010 and became the Stadio Artemio Franchi outfit’s first-choice last season.
The Viola are said to be keen to renew the South American’s contact to stave off interest from overseas and other Italian clubs, but Neto’s agent has suggested that the stopper is weighing up his options carefully.
“The boy wants to think twice before making the final decision,” Stefano Castagna has confirmed to Viola News.
“It is a major contract for his career so I find nothing scandalous in him wanting to reflect. When he returns from Brazil Neto will speak with Fiorentina, but at the moment there is no precise date on his answer.
“Fiorentina has not given us an ultimatum, this is not true.”
Whether Neto would be willing to swap clubs half-way through a campaign remains to be seen, but the Fiorentina man seems to be a potential option if Rodgers does decide to buy a new goalkeeper.
