The latest weekend and Monday night of Premier League action is over and the focus for sides at the top and bottom of the table is on resting well before Boxing Day kicks off a chaotic fixture schedule heading into the New Year.
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal will be determined for his team to react positively after they dropped points away at Aston Villa, which also saw a six game winning run brought to an end. Arsene Wenger was also left frustrated after Arsenal’s game against Liverpool, with defender Martin Skrtel rising highest to head home a late equaliser for Brendan Rodgers’s tea.
Chelsea stay top for Christmas while Queens Park Rangers secured a much needed win against West Brom, which saw them rise positions and further away from the Premier League’s bottom three, which is occupied by Burnley, Hull City and Leicester City.
