Leeds United taken on Wigan Athletic on Boxing Day looking for their first win in three games after the 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest.

In terms of the basic stats between the two sides, there isn’t too much difference with Leeds having scored three more goals while Wigan have the better defence.
Wigan have had more attempts on goal so far this season, but the numbers show Leeds have been more precise, which will make them confident of converting any chances which fall their way.
One noticeable difference in favour of Wigan is that they’re playing a much higher number of crosses into the box, which can be explained because of the narrow diamond formation which Leeds have been using this season.
Leeds are more aggressive in terms of tackling and the passing stats suggest they are less direct with their build up play as they look to protect the ball.
If Leeds can get possession and keep it, they should have enough to wear Wigan down over 90 minutes, but Wigan do create chances and every half chance represents an opportunity to score.
