Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Clayton has warned Nottingham Forest that his side are determined to get back to winning ways after a defeat to Ipswich Town.
'Boro have not lost two league matches in a row since the end of August and Clayton has been quick to remind Forest of this record ahead of the fixture.
“The lads can’t wait for Boxing Day," he said to the Hartlepool Mail.
“Every time we’ve put in a bad performance we have come back and won the next game. Each time we’ve been beaten so far, we’ve come back with a positive result and that’s all you can do."
This consistency has fired Aitor Karanka's side into promotion contention and they have looked one of the Championship's most eye-catching sides so far this season.
The Spanish boss has brought a continental style to the Riverside Stadium and their productive, passing approach has created great results so far.
A loss to Ipswich was a blow last weekend, but there can be no doubting their quality and if Forest are on the end of a blacklash getting a result could be a huge struggle.
The Reds have not lived up to expectations this campaign and are languishing in mid-table after a poor run of form.
Forest were the division's early pace-setters, but the obvious quality they possess hasn't been evident in recent months.
Stuart Pearce's side are seven points away from the play-off spots and they will know that they can ill-afford too many more defeats if they are to breach the gap.
