Halo The Master Chief Collection owners get Halo 3: ODST for free

Halo The Master Chief Collection

An enhanced version of Halo 3: ODST has been gifted to players that experienced online issues with the game.

343 Industries head, Bonnie Ross, announced in a blog post a few days ago that Halo: The Master Chief Collection (Halo: TMCC) owners will receive a free copy of Halo 3: ODST.

The offer comes by way of an apology to those players who experienced problems with the online content in Halo: TMCC.

The offer is for those players who own a copy of Halo: TMCC and have played the game between its launch on 11th November up until 19th December 2014.

Not only do players get Halo 3: ODST, but they also get the following:

  • 1 Month of Xbox Live Gold
  • Exclusive In-Game Nameplate
  • Exclusive In-Game Avatar
  • “Relic” Halo 2: Anniversary Multiplayer Map

That all seems very nice of them. One extra thing to note with Halo 3: ODST is that it's also been given a facelift, and will run at 1080p with 60fps.

Don't get too excited just yet, however, as Ross says that "Development has just started on the campaign for Halo 3: ODST", so you can't have it just yet. But, it's a free game, so you can't really complain, eh.

Make sure you read Ross's full blog post over here.
