Crystal Palace closing on Sanogo loan

Crystal Palace could be close to securing the services of Arsenal's French marksman Yaya Sanogo on a temporary basis.

French Under-21 international Yaya Sanogo has been linked with Aston Villa and Sunderland, but Crystal Palace seem to be winning the race to snap him up on loan.

The talented hit man hasn't been able to make a case for regular first-team football at the Emirates Stadium and has played just 351 minutes all season.

It is widely expected that Sanogo will be sent elsewhere to get some experience from January and the Daily Mirror believes that Crystal Palace is the most likely destination.

Arsenal signed Sanogo from Auxerre in July 2013 after he had shown signs of great promise with the French side having worked his way up through the youth ranks.

But Sanogo is yet to make his mark for the Gunners since making his first starting appearance in February 2014 in a 2-1 FA Cup win over Liverpool.

While the youngster scored four goals in Arsenal's pre-season Emirates Cup win over Benfica and netted his first competitive goal against Borussia Dortmund, he is yet to score in the league.

Sanogo may get a chance to score his first Premier League goal for Palace, who are struggling for striking inspiration.
