Where has it all gone wrong for Tom Ince?
Back in January he was one of the most sought-after talents outside of the Premier League, with Crystal Palace considered to have pulled off quite a coup in beating a number of their top-flight rivals to taking the winger on loan from Blackpool.
He then became a free agent over the summer and held talks with Serie A giants Inter Milan as he carefully considered his next step.
Ince ultimately snubbed those advances, with there no desire to follow in the footsteps of his father Paul at this stage.
Instead, he signed for Hull City, with Steve Bruce’s transfer dealings suggesting that the Tigers meant business.
Ince struggled to make an impact during the early weeks of the season, though, and was sent on loan to Nottingham Forest in October.
Surely he would shine back in the familiar surroundings of the Championship, wouldn’t he?
No, is the short answer to that question.

Ince may be an England U21 international and a player with plenty of potential still to be unlocked at the age of 22, but he is in danger of seeing his career nosedive.
Hull have recalled him to the KC Stadium and will add him to their top-flight plans for the busy festive period, but can he expect to see much action?
The Opta statistics above show how badly he struggled to make an impact at Forest and the troubles being endured by Bruce’s men in the top tier suggest that this is no time to be taking a punt on players out of form and low on confidence.
Forest, meanwhile, are unlikely to be cursing their luck at seeing a loan deal they fought so hard to secure ripped up, with Stuart Pearce well-stocked in the creativity department and preparing to welcome Andy Reid back from injury in the not too distant future.
