David Moyes In Emirates Press Conference

David Moyes came face-to-face with a familiar foe on Saturday, with ex-Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko lining up for Levante against Real Sociedad.

There will not be too many familiar faces for David Moyes in Spain, with the former Everton and Manchester United boss still adjusting to life in La Liga with Real Sociedad.

He has taken a bold step into the unknown, with his coaching career taking him outside of Britain for the first time.

Moyes has, however, enjoyed a positive opening to a new chapter, with only one defeat suffered in seven fixtures in all competitions.

The Scot appears to have settled quickly and is already getting his message across.

He will, however, have been pleased to catch up with a man he knows well from his time on Merseyside over the weekend.

During a lengthy spell at Goodison Park, Moyes faced arch-rivals Liverpool on several occasions.

For a few years, Mohamed Sissoko was lining up for the Reds, but he is now on the books at Levante and helped his current employers to snatch a dramatic point from a 1-1 draw with Sociedad on Saturday.

Moyes and Sociedad have now finished for Christmas, with a winter break taken in Spain.

His troops and not due to be in action again until January 4, with a mid-season window offering a welcome opportunity to work on plans he will have drawn up in a hurry after inheriting the reins.

He will also get the chance to draw up a New Year shopping list, with it possible that he will look to raid the Premier League ranks he knows so well when the transfer window re-opens for business.
