Not too many central defenders would be concerned by their goalscoring records, but Southampton captain Jose Fonte is annoyed that he hasn't been able to hit the back of the net in recent matches.
The towering defender has had a number of presentable opportunities in the side's previous few matches, but he has not been able to take any of them.
It is something which has frustrated the newly capped Portuguese international, but Fonte was keen not to dwell on his misses this weekend after Southampton beat Everton 3-0.
"I can’t seem to score at the moment – I don’t know what’s going on," Fonte told the club's official site. "The last couple of games I had some good chances, the keepers have made good saves.
"But for me the most important thing is the clean sheet and keeping a good record defensively. I’m happy because the team won, hopefully the goal will come."
The win over Everton was vital for Southampton as question marks had began to emerge over their credentials to claim a European place.
The Saints made a blistering start to the campaign, but an injury crisis exposed the lack of depth in their squad and they have struggled over recent times.
Ronald Koeman's went into the game with the Toffees having failed to triumph in any of their previous five league matches, but the three points they collected on Saturday should give them a major boost in confidence for what appears a tough run over the Christmas period.
Southampton's next game comes against Crystal Palace before they face tough tests against Chelsea and Arsenal.
