Robbie Blake believes Liam Cooper would be a success in the Premier League.
Former Leeds United ace Robbie Blake has tipped Liam Cooper to go on and play at the highest level.
Cooper has forced his way into the side after a summer move from Chesterfield, and head coach Neil Redfearn even preferred him to captain Jason Pearce when Giuseppe Bellusci was fit.
Cooper stood out in Leeds' 1-1 draw away to Nottingham Forest, particularly impressing the watching Blake.
He told Radio Yorkshire: "I've watched the Premier League and for me, he can make that step up.
"A little more belief, more confidence will come, the nice thing is he's got aggression, he puts his head in where it hurts.
"He has composure on the ball, most of all when you play at the highest level, the most important thing in the Premier League is the decision making and the passing, and he always makes the right decision. Given the chance, I think he can play higher."
Ideally for Leeds, any football Cooper plays in the Premier League will be with them, but already this season they are 14 points off the play-off positions.
Cooper is only 23, and signed a three-year deal with Leeds in July, so they don't need to worry about him getting itchy feet to move on and test himself just yet.
