Eddie Howe's Bournemouth side are currently top, with Brentford in third, but Wright has backed the likes of Steve McClaren, Aitor Karanka and Mick McCarthy for promotion to the Premier league.
All three teams have made a superb start to the camapign, although only Ipswich Town currently sit in the automatic promotion places.
The margins, however, are rather fine after 22 league games, with both Derby County and Middlesbrough only two points behind McCarthy's men.
Watford, Brentford and Bournemouth complete the current top six, with Norwich City, Blackburn Rovers, Wolves and Nottingham Forest slightly further back.
Ipswich beat Middlesbrough 2-0 on Saturday, although Karanka's men had beaten Derby in their previous clash. McClaren's side then went on to draw their next game with Norwich City 2-2.
The promotion race is bound to take some interesting turns on Boxing Day, as Brentford host Ipswich, while Middlesbrough host Nottingham Forest and Derby County travel to in-form Birmingham City.
Whether Wright is proven correct or not, meanwhile, the battle for the Championship title is likely to go down to the very wire at this rate.
