The Netherlands international scored twice for PSV Eindhoven yesterday against Go Ahead Eagles.
PSV Eindhoven are in an excellent position to end domestic rivals Ajax’s run of four consecutive Eredivisie titles - with superstar attacker Memphis Depay playing a key role for the Philips Stadion outfit.
The Netherlands international shone at the World Cup in the summer and has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League.
Both Manchester United and Tottenham are said to be major suitors of the 20-year-old attacker, who is quickly becoming one of the Eredivisie’s best players.
Depay netted twice yesterday in PSV’s 5-0 rout of Go Ahead Eagles, with the goals at 1.15 and 2.25 of the video below.
The forward’s first goal was an instinctive header over the opposition goalkeeper, while good positioning played its part in Depay’s second late in the encounter.
The Dutch star was being linked with a PSV exit last summer but instead opted to extend his contract with his boyhood club.
However, with his latest goals moving him into double figures in the Dutch league, it is highly likely that major clubs across Europe are keeping a close eye on the star.
With compatriot and former national team coach Louis van Gaal in charge at Old Trafford, Depay could well end up in Manchester if his current performances are anything to go by.
