The former Anfield attacker opened his league account for the Camp Nou giants in the 5-0 rout of Cordoba yesterday.
The Uruguayan hotshot joined Luis Enrique’s men from Liverpool in the summer for a fee in the region of £65 million but had not scored for the Blaugrana in his first seven domestic appearances.
After Pedro had put the hosts into the lead in the second minute, Suarez broke his duck early in the second half to all-but secure the three points for Barcelona.
As can be seen in the video below, Pedro provided the assist for the 27-year-old, who controlled the ball well before slotting it into the back of the net.
Suarez has scored twice in the Champions League for the Catalan outfit, including a strike against Paris Saint-Germain in the final group game.
The tempestuous Uruguayan will return to English shores in the new year as Barcelona have been drawn against Manchester City in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Suarez will be relieved to have netted his first strike for the Camp Nou side in La Liga, in a win that moves Enrique’s men to within a point of league leaders and fierce rivals Real Madrid.
