Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Jordan Archer will return to White Hart Lane in January according to the latest reports.
The 21-year-old has made 13 appearances for Northampton Town, playing every single minute until his sending off against Southend United at the end of November.
But despite featuring so regularly it has been confirmed that the League Two side will not be extending his loan spell beyond December.
In comments published by the Northampton Chronicle and Echo, manager Chris Wilder said, “We’ve made the decision to go with Dukey (Matt Duke) for the rest of the season.
“We feel that you work with a budget and it’s not a problem for us to have him in goal.
“We’d like competition in every area but I might have to put a bit of money somewhere else and I don’t see it as an issue to have Matt in goal.”
Archer is yet to make his senior debut for Tottenham and is unlikely to do so anytime soon given the presence of Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm at the club.
But given that he featured so regularly prior to his dismissal he should have no problem finding a new loan club if Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino does opt to send him back out on loan.
