Manchester United transfer news: Two Argentines and one Spaniard linked

Old Trafford

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

Another day, another load of transfer rumours relating to Manchester United, with the January transfer window fast approaching and Louis van Gaal said to be keen on a number of new players.

The Daily Star claims United remain confident of signing Benfica duo Nico Gaitan and Enzo Perez. The latter has been heavily linked with Valencia but the latest suggestion is that United could sign him and his Argentine teammate for a combined £51million.

Why United need Gaitan remains to be seen but few rumours actually make sense at this time of year.

The same newspaper says United and Manchester City are on red alert after Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos allegedly intimated that he would be willing to leave the Bernabeu.

The Spanish international would be a fantastic addition to van Gaal’s squad but with negotiations ongoing regarding a new contract with the European champions, this could all be talk to ensure Ramos gets the best possible deal.
