Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Sakho's performance against Arsenal

Giant Anfield Flag

Liverpool drew 2-2 with Arsenal on Sunday but what did Reds fans make of Mamadou Sakho's performance?

This weekend Liverpool centre-back Mamadou Sakho made his first league appearance for the Reds since the 3-1 defeat to West Ham United back in September.

The 24-year-old Frenchman played in a back-three along with Kolo Toure and Martin Skrtel, as Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers looked to solve the defensive woes that have blighted his side for much of the campaign.

He did not quite manage that, with Liverpool conceding two more goals against the Gunners, but at least his side earned a point after Skrtel's late equaliser.

Liverpool looked to have turned a corner when they won consecutive matches against Stoke City and Leicester City but since then they have slipped out of the Champions League and lost 3-0 away to Manchester United.

A 2-2 draw against Arsenal is nothing to be ashamed of, but Sakho and his defensive partners came in for plenty of criticism on social media after another haphazard showing.  That said, a few fans stuck up for the French international, but Liverpool's latest showing still raises more questions than it answers.

After the match we took to Twitter to see what Liverpool fans thought of Sakho's performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
