Celtic striker Anthony Stokes is determined to play better out on the wing.
Celtic striker Anthony Stokes has revealed that he is working on his left foot.
The Republic of Ireland international has been largely used on the left wing by manager Ronny Deila so far this season.
Former Arsenal prospect Stokes has been a striker his entire career, but he is relishing his new role under the Norwegian.
It is not easy for a player to switch positions, but the 26-year-old is doing all he can to better himself.
“I’m enjoying it out there at the minute,” The Scotsman quotes Stokes as saying. “I need to improve in a couple of areas.
“I am working on my left foot. I spent half an hour at training on Friday putting in crosses and my left foot was hanging after it. That will help me develop my game.
“I don’t think I’ll ever be an out-and-out winger, but with our current formation, and the way we’re playing just now, it actually suits me.”
Celtic are currently four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table and will take on Dundee United away from home today.
