CONFIRMED: Liverpool and Arsenal line-ups

Here is how Liverpool and Arsenal will line up for this afternoon’s match:

Liverpool starting XI: Jones, Toure, Skrtel, Sakho, Lucas, Henderson, Markovic, Coutinho, Gerrard, Lallana, Sterling

Liverpool subs: Mignolet, Enrique, Moreno, Manquillo, Can, Borini, Lambert

Arsenal starting XI: Szczesny, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Chambers, Gibbs, Flamini, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Alexis, Giroud, Welbeck

Arsenal subs: Martinez, Monreal, Coquelin, Maitland-Niles, Campbell, Walcott, Podolski

Liverpool take on Arsenal at Anfield today, with Brendan Rodgers’ side looking to climb back into the top half of the Premier League table and Arsenal hoping to return to the top-five.

In this fixture last season Liverpool won 5-1 with four of those goals coming in a 20-minute blitz at the start of the game.

Gone are the days when the Reds shot out of the blocks and defeated opponents before they could take a breath and this affair is sure to be much tighter.

Liverpool’s victory against Bournemouth in the League Cup will have given them some confidence after their recent slump but will it be enough to overcome an Arsenal side who are beginning to get the best out of their very impressive forward-line?
