A select round-up of the latest news relating to Arsenal

Arsenal travel to Anfield today to take on a Liverpool side eager to get back to winning ways.

The Gunners are currently seventh in the Premier League table but they can jump back ahead of Tottenham Hotspur with a victory this afternoon.

In early team news the BBC reports that three Arsenal players will face fitness tests ahead of the encounter.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Nacho Monreal and Theo Walcott will all be assessed ahead of the match, while Calum Chambers is definitely available having served his suspension.

However Aaron Ramsey could sit out the entire festive period with a hamstring injury.

In other news, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been speaking about the possibility of signing new players…or at least of spending money.

In comments published by, the Frenchman said, “What I don’t like is to spend money that I don’t have. Now I have money so no problem spending it at all.”

It remains to be seen if Arsenal will be splashing the cash next month, but considering their need for another quality centre-back and a defensive midfielder, it would be no surprise if they do.
