Anthony Stokes: I want to stay at Celtic for as long as possible

The Bhoys forward remains committed to the SPL champions.

Celtic forward Anthony Stokes's future has been the subject of some speculation lately.

The 26-year-old was recently linked with a £1.5 million move to Championship side Cardiff City, although Celtic boss Ronny Deila dismissed those links.

The report lingered, though, and the nature of the transfer market is such that no news can often - somehow - mean... news.

Stokes himself, however, has been speaking to the Scottish press and says he wants to stay at Celtic 'for as long as possible.'

“I still see myself as a striker. I’m only 26 but I want to stay at Celtic for as long as possible and I want to keep myself in the team," Stokes is quoted as saying by the Scotsman.

"You have to adapt to different managers and how they want to play. The more positions you have, the more opportunities you have to get in the team."

The Bhoys travel to Dundee United later today.
