West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has said that it is up to Ravel Morrison to prove himself and convince the club to retain his services.
England Under-21 international Morrison has returned to West Ham from his loan spell at Championship club Cardiff City, but he does not seem to feature in manager Sam Allardyce’s plans for the season.
Gold has now claimed that Morrison needs to take a good look at himself and decide his own fate.
“@CYerrell: DG can u keep rav please Ravel should look in the mirror every morning and tell himself. "IF IT'S TO BE IT'S UP TO ME" dg— David Gold (@davidgold) December 20, 2014
Morrison is a former Manchester United prospect who has been on the books of West Ham since 2012.
Last season the youngster did show some promising signs and looked to have finally turned the corner, but it turned out to be a false dawn.
With reports claiming that West Ham are willing to let him go on a free, it remains to be seen how Morrison digs himself out of the current problems.
