Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela has scored his first Premier League goal.

The Argentina international finally broke his duck in the English top flight on Saturday when he found the target against Burnley in the ongoing clash at White Hart Lane.

Lamela was teed up by Ryan Mason outside the Burnley box on the right. The 22-year-old cut inside and bent a shot beyond Tom Heaton from 25 yards.

BBC Sport has described the goal as ‘Gareth Bale-esque’, although former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas was not impressed with Burnley’s defending.

“Don't get me wrong, it is a fantastic strike from Erik Lamela, but Sean Dyche will have issues about the defending,” the 31-year-old said.

“You’ve got Erik Lamela on the right side - he is only ever going to cut inside. So the defender needs to force him down the right. The centre-half should be shouting for him to show him down the right.”

Jenas is probably right, but Lamela wouldn’t care. After it, this is his first goal in the Premier League.
