Leeds United's boss has hailed veteran midfielder Michael Tonge's cameo as crucial in helping the side to a draw against Nottingham Forest.
Head coach Neil Redfearn brought the 31-year-old on for the final 14 minutes during the 1-1 draw at the City Ground.
He told BBC Radio Leeds: "Michael Tonge, I thought he came on and did brilliant.
"He's been patient. We've changed it round a bit, introduced these young players, the seniors have been excellent.
"These lads need help at times and the bench played their part today."
While Tonge made only 13 touches and played only nine passes, he brought a level of experience to the side and that ability to help organise and see out games is a trait Leeds have been lacking in recent matches, especially on their travels.
Amid promises to consider changing the side, it was perhaps a little of a surprise Tonge was not in from the start, but hasn't began a Championship match since the heavy loss at Watford back in August.
