Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted his fears over losing key midfielder Aaron Ramsey for the entire Christmas period.
The Welsh international has been superb of late, recapturing the magical form of last season where he notched a number of goals from midfield.
However, with the Gunners set for a busy festive period, they may have to make do without the 23-year-old after he picked up a hamstring strain in the recent Champions League win over Galatasary.
Initial prognosticates suggested Ramsey’s recent absence was only as a precaution, but now Wenger admits to fears over losing the former Cardiff City idol for the entirety of the upcoming busy festive period.
“I am scared that he will miss the Christmas period. He should be back end of December, early January,” he told Arsenal’s official website.
Ramsey has started 11 Premier League matches for the Gunners this season, finding the back of the net on three occasions and contributing with another two assists.
With fellow midfielder Jack Wilshere also nursing an injury, the North Londoners are looking very light in midfield and could be forced into making an extra addition in the January transfer window.
Arsene Wenger’s side have a number of challenging fixtures over the festive period, with trips to fellow top-four rivals Liverpool, West Ham United and Southampton all on the horizon.
