Tottenham Hotspur winger Nacer Chadli is expecting a tough match against Burnley tomorrow.
The North London club edged past Swansea City 2-1 away from home in the league last weekend, and then got the better of Newcastle United 4-0 at home in the League Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday.
Burnley are currently a point and a place above the bottom three, and one would expect Tottenham to ease to a win.
But Belgium international Chadli believes that the promoted Premier League outfit will make it tough and told Tottenham’s official website: “Burnley have made life difficult for the teams they’ve played so far this year but for us, we have to win at home. It’s as simple as that.
“I think they’ll probably play similarly to how Crystal Palace did a couple of weeks ago – they’ll be forceful and play on the counter. They will have confidence after their result against Southampton last week.
“They have shown that they can beat good teams but we have to remain very focused and play well because it’s an important game.”
Burnley will know that winning at White Hart Lane will not be easy, and they could be looking to defend them and play on the counter.
A point for the visitors will be deemed a success, which means that the onus will be on Tottenham to make attacking forays and impress themselves on the match.
An early goal for Burnley could make things tricky for Spurs, but if the hosts score first, then they will almost certainly win the match and remain on track for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
