Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has said that Marcos Rojo will not feature against Aston Villa on Saturday.
The Argentina international defender has still not recovered from the injury he picked up in training before last weekend’s Premier League clash against Liverpool at Old Trafford.
This means that Rojo will sit out the encounter against Villa at Villa Park, although Brazil international right-back Rafael da Silva is available after recovering from his groin problem.
"Rafael is not injured," United’s official website quotes United as saying. "He was already fit last week, but I have to select and I have to compare.
"When I have more players fit, I have to select. You will have to wait and see, of course. I have to compare. Rafael? I can take him in the 18.
“Rojo? No. We have five injuries and one [Marouane Fellaini] is ill, so they are not coming up. Rojo has a rectus femoris [thigh] injury.”
United are currently third in the Premier League table with 31 points from 16 matches.
