This summer one of the many youngsters to impress at Manchester United in pre-season was Reece James. The flying left-back bagged a couple of goals and when he was loaned out, despite something of a left-back injury shortage at the club due to problems for Luke Shaw and Daley Blind.
He was loaned to the club in November, with his deal running until the 10th January next year.
Since joining the club he has played three times, 90 minutes on each occasion, and impressed the Rotherham fans with his excellent displays.
Now he has been speaking about his time in the Championship so far. In an interview published by the Sheffield Telegraph he has spoken about the rigours of the lower division, and how he has been surprised by the level of play:
“It’s a lot quicker than I thought it was going to be.
“You’re thinking on your feet. As soon as the ball comes to you, you’re under pressure.
“There’s a lot more high intensity, and the physical side as well ... you’re coming up against players who have got more experience than yourself.
“They know how to use their bodies and to foul, things like that. It’s a massive learning curve for myself.”
This weekend Rotherham take on Wigan Athletic and will be aiming to win their first game since a 2-1 triumph over Leeds in October, nine games ago.
The performance of this Manchester United youngster will be pivotal to any success.
