Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has said that there is no news on the contract situation of goalkeeper David de Gea.
The Spain international’s current deal with the Premier League outfit runs out in June 2016, and negotiations have been going on about fresh terms for a while.
De Gea, who has been on the books of United since 2011, has been in superb form this season and has been arguably the team’s best player.
There have been reports that Real Madrid are interested in the 24-year-old, although the Spanish giants have given no official indication that they are monitoring the former Atletico Madrid star.
"No news, otherwise we would give that news,” Van Gaal told reporters on Friday. “But first on MUTV - it is logical.”
United are currently third in the Premier League table with 31 points from 16 matches.
