Add-on brings new challenge mode to Ubisoft’s Himalayan open world FPS
Escape from Durgesh Prison,, the first DLC expansion for Far Cry 4 is to launch from 13th January.
Rather than bringing additional story content, the maiden DLC for Far Cry 4 will offer a time-trial challenge. Players will start out in the game’s prison stage , where they’ve been incarcerated by Pagan Min and stripped of their weapons. Either alone or with a friend in co-op,you’ll then be tasked with breaking out into Kyrat to gear-up by performing side objectives before a final showdown with Yuma’s forces.
To spice things up it appears Ubisoft won’t be letting players save their progress through the challenge, “when players die they must start the mission over again and use the knowledge and skills they gained during their previous run through to help them reach their extraction point successfully,” reads a press release from the developer.
Players looking to rise to the challenge of Durgesh Prison will be able to purchase the DLC separately or as part of Far Cry 4’s season pass. Versions will arrive for Xbox and PC on 13th January 2015 with PlayStation Network receiving the expansion on the 14th January.
