Are these players Liverpool's five main January transfer targets?

Karim Benzema France

Liverpool have been linked with signing some fantastic players over the past week.

Liverpool flexed their financial muscles with some big signings last summer and speculation that they could add further players throughout the January transfer window.

Here are five of the best players linked with the club from the past week.

Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

Previously linked with the club, the Frenchman could come in and revitalise the attack over the second half of the season. However, £50 million seems quite steep.

Fabian Delph (Aston Villa)

The Mirror has tipped Liverpool to sign Delph as a long term replacement for club captain Steven Gerrard.

Virgil van Dijk (Celtic)

The Celtic defender is reportedly wanted by a number of Premier League clubs, with Liverpool thought to be one of them.

Sergio Romero (Sampdoria)

One of the goalkeepers the club has been linked with signing over the past week. A good, experienced option that Rodgers could consider.

Rolando Aarons (Newcastle United)

Aarons has reportedly rejected a contract offer from Newcastle, with Liverpool one of the sides tipped to step in and take advantage.

Mattia Perin (Genoa)

The 21-year-old goalkeeper is one of the most exciting talents that Liverpool have been linked with, as Brendan Rodgers looks for competition for Simon Mignolet.
