To be played on Saturday 20th December 2014 at 15:00. Venue: St. Mary's Stadium, Southampton
Odds: Southampton 16/11, Draw 12/5, Everton 9/4
After such an impressive start to the season, there are going to be some writing of Southampton's chances of improbably securing a European spot this season.
They've lost each of their last five games in all competitions, the latest a 1-0 defeat to League One side Sheffield United in the League Cup. Prior to that they played a tough set of fixtures against Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United - before failing to stop the rot with a 1-0 defeat to Burnley.
Everton will be looking to build on their good win over Queens Park Rangers on Monday night where Ross Barkley was the star of the show. Roberto Martinez's side currently sit 10th in the table, and are looking to kick on. It seems that finishing in the top four remains the aim for the Toffees.
“I like the way they [Everton] play. It's all about football and possession, and that's why Saturday will be an attractive match.”
“They [Southampton] are based on attacking football and full of flair. I really like watching them and they are a team who can compete for the top six.”
