Moussa Sissoko: I am playing my best football at Newcastle

The 25-year-old is in a positive frame of mind ahead of Sunday's Sunderland clash, despite Newcastle's 4-0 loss at Tottenham.

Moussa Sissoko feels his is playing some of his best football at Newcastle United ahead of Sunday's Tyne-Wear derby against Sunderland.

And the Magpies star is under no illusions as to where he performs best within Alan Pardew's setup.

“For me, my best position is in the middle. After the manager decides if I play centre midfield or right or left, I work hard at it," the France midfielder is quoted as saying by the Newcastle Evening Chronicle.

“Maybe I am playing some of my best football but it is because the rest of the team are too. They are helping me out. I will do my best for the team on Sunday to try and win the game.”

Sissoko also assured Newcastle fans that he won't be missing the Tyne-Wear derby despite receiving on-field treatment against Tottenham last night: “It’s okay, it’s just a kick on the knee. I saw the doctor – I will be ready for Sunday."
