Adebayor speaks! Tottenham star pays tribute to Arsenal legend Henry

The Spurs striker feels 'privileged' to have played with the Gunners icon.

Tottenham Hostpur striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been rather quiet lately, having recently been allowed to leave the country for personal reasons and not featuring for the north London side for some time.

But the Spurs forward has now made his first venture into the world of social media since mid-November - in a tribute to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

Tottenham fans, of course, will not need reminding of Henry's deadly ability in front of goal, with the Arsenal striker causing the Gunners' fierce rivals no end of problems over the years.

Adebayor, though, has played on both sides of the north London divide - and couldn't help but pay tribute to his former Arsenal team-mate on Twitter.

Henry recently announced his retirement as a player and will now work for Sky Sports as a football pundit.

As for Adebayor's playing career, the Togolese forward faces an uncertain Tottenham future - but could salvage some hope with another run like that of last year, when the 30-year-old came out of the Spurs development squad to produce a clinical run of goals under former boss Tim Sherwood.
