Morgan Schneiderlin is upset after the defeat to Sheffield United.
They started the season by confounding the critics, but right now Southampton are starting to show chinks in their armour.
Recently results have not been going their way and last night their hopes of League Cup glory were dashed by Sheffield United of League One.
Defeat against Everton at the weekend would certainly leave them starting to finally miss the litany of big names that left in the summer.
The likes of Luke Shaw, Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Calum Chambers and Dejan Lovren all departed in the summer and French international Morgan Schneiderlin wanted to join them.
He has taken to Twitter today to show his disappointment in the manner of their defeat against The Blades.
Such a horrible feeling after this defeat ! Thanks to our fans who travelled so far , we wanted to bring you to Wembley ! #timetobounceback— Morgan Schneiderlin (@SchneiderlinMo4) December 17, 2014
What's more, the defeat means another avenue for potential qualification for Europe is out of the window for Southampton. I looked like the performances of new signings Dusan Tadic, Graziano Pelle and Toby Alderweireld would carry Southampton on after the departures of such big names.
Without European football Schneiderlin himself might be on his way out of St Marys.
