Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has revealed his hope that Brendan Rodgers remains the club’s manager for a lengthy period of time.
Rodgers is under pressure from all angles at the moment, but Fowler believes he’s the man for the job and has predicted the boss will get the team back to playing the football they entertained everyone with last season.
“I really rate Brendan Rodgers, he is a fantastic manager. His tactics are spot on, his man management style is superb,” said Fowler in an exclusive interview for Soccerlens.
“I hope he remains at Liverpool for a long time and honestly believe he will get us playing again – I have confidence in him and he should remain as Liverpool manager.”
There’s no other way to put Liverpool’s league form; they are up against it, in the bottom half of the Premier League table and battling to get back up towards the top six.
They have a chance to forget about the league this evening, when they take on Championship high flyers Bournemouth.
It’s a good chance for the Reds to secure a place in the last four of the League Cup and Rodgers could use that momentum looking ahead to the weekend game against Arsenal.
Rodgers nearly guided the side to the Premier League title last season but he’s faced challenges he didn’t have last year.
His team is playing a higher ratio of matches because of Europe and he’s managing a larger squad because of the investments that were made last summer.
Once he adjusts to those things, which will hopefully become normal for Liverpool, the side should relax into producing their best football with Rodgers in charge.
