Spanish newspaper and website AS has reported that German giants Bayern Munich are expected to complete the signing of £12 million rated youngster Martin Odegaard today.
The Norwegian teenager is one of the biggest talents in Europe and the news comes as a blow to the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur who have all been strongly linked with him.
Marca claims that while several other clubs were interested, he’s struck some sort of agreement with the German giants, with an announcement expected at some point today.
“Bayern Munich are expected to announce the signing of Norwegian wunderkind Martin Odegaard on Wednesday, the occasion of the international midfielder’s 16th birthday,” reports AS.
“Odegaard has been the object of a Europe-wide serenade – Broadcaster Sport 1 reported an accord between Odegaard's representatives and Bayern.”
The Premier League clubs interested in him all boast very forward thinking and productive youth systems, but it would appear that he’s been swayed by the guaranteed success and entertaining style of football on offer at Pep Guardiola’s Bavarian giants.
