Match to be played on Saturday 20th December 2014 at 15:00. Venue: Villa Park, Birmingham.
Villa were on a promising run of form prior to last weekend, when the Baggies defeated them with a second-half strike, but they will be hoping to cause Louis van Gaal’s side plenty of problems at a ground United normally enjoy visiting.
The Red Devils are third in the Premier League after winning their last six matches and they will want to maintain that form as they head into what could be a decisive Christmas and New Year period if they have realistic aspirations of challenging for the title.
Villa injury concerns: Joe Cole lacks match fitness and is unlikely to feature
Villa absences: Alan Hutton and Kieran Richardson are both suspended while Philippe Senderos and Nathan Baker remain unavailable due to injury. Ashley Westwood’s knee injury rules him out until mid-January.
United injury concerns: Marcos Rojo is expected to recover from a knock while Rafael is lacking match fitness. Angel Di Maria has a 50 per cent chance of recovering from a hamstring injury.
United absences: Luke Shaw is out with an ankle injury while Daley Blind and Chris Smalling are not expected back until Boxing Day.
