Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has been singing the praises of teammate Radamel Falcao.
Colombia international Falcao has been struggling with fitness issues recently and is currently not guaranteed a place in the Red Devils’ starting line-up.
Signed from AS Monaco in the summer transfer window on a season-long loan deal, Falcao has failed to convince many Premier League followers that he can deliver the goods for United.
There have been questions raised on the 28-year-old striker’s injury problems, but teammate Mata has insisted that the former Atletico Madrid is fine in training.
"He is training very well and he is waiting for his opportunity like the great professional he is, like the great team-mate he is," the Spain international, who joined United from Chelsea in 2014, told the Press Association.
"It makes me happy that he played [against Liverpool] and it will make me even happier if he can score because he has been playing well in training.”
Falcao was left on the substitutes’ bench for United’s Premier League clash against Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday; James Wilson started in his place alongside Robin van Persie.
The former FC Porto striker has scored just one goal in eight Premier League appearances, and United fans will hope that he starts scoring regularly soon.
