Manchester City morning news: Sagna on replacing Kompany, talks with Sneijder's agent

A round up of news stories this morning about Manchester City.

Bacary Sagna feels he’s good enough to replace Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany.

Kompany is expected to be out of action until the New Year with a hamstring problem.

“I have played a few times at centre-back for Arsenal. If I have to play I will play, and always try to give 100 per cent and my best for the team,” said the Frenchman.

Manchester City are reported to have held talks with Wesley Sneijder’s agent over a possible move to the Etihad.

The Dutchman has frequently been linked with a move to the Etihad, with Voetbal International claiming the talks have taken place.

Manchester City are being tipped to sign Ivan Rakitic from Barcelona in a battle against Manchester United.

Rakitic recently linked up with Luis Enrique’s team, but could be allowed to leave for the right price.

City have a good chance of getting him though United flexed their financial muscles with some big deals last summer.
