Real, tangible hardware that looks and feels like the real deal is being developed.
I've never understood Farming Simulator, but then again I've never played it, so I can't really comment on it either way. However, for those players out there that love it, there's some good news - Mad Catz's Saitek brand, the company that makes video game and console peripherals, is creating some hardware specifically for Farming Simulator.
Saitek and developers of the series, GIANTS Software, are working together to create hardware to work with the farm sim game, which will include a "properly tilted, center sprung steering wheel with 900 degrees of turning and a wheel turning knob," oh yes.
Accelerator and brake pedals will be accompanied with the new wheel too, and a vehicle side panel exclusively for the game. The side panel will be fully programmable and include a "Front Loader Control Stick", along with buttons so players can adjust their "tool attach/detach, tool switching, reverse, lights, horn, cruise control, and more!"
A lot of the terminology is lost on me, but if you're interested you should head on over to the Saitek website where you can sign up for updates. As the development process continues Saitek and GIANTS will be looking to the community for feedback and design decisions.
