Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge will reportedly spend Christmas in America in a bid to be available for the Reds in the New Year.
The England international is currently recovering from thigh and calf problems that have ruled him out for much of the season so far.
With Luis Suarez leaving Anfield in the summer, Liverpool would have been desperate for Sturridge to remain fit for the entire campaign, but instead he has featured just three times and has not been seen since Liverpool’s 3-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur back in August.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, the 25-year-old , who is currently stepping up his recovery in Los Angeles, will spend the festive period in Boston rather than head back to England.
It shows a real desire on Sturridge’s part to rediscover his fitness and form when his club is in desperate need of him.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are currently 11th in the Premier League and are seven points outside the Champions League places with nearly half the campaign gone.
