Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Jordon Ibe's performance for Derby v Chelsea

Jordon Ibe

Jordon Ibe impressed off the bench for Derby against Chelsea.

Derby County were defeated in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup last night by a typically dominant Chelsea side.

Jose Mourinho played top stars like Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas as the Blues ran out 3-1 winners.

Among the bright spots for the home side, was winger Jordon Ibe, who came off the bench after 56 minutes and gave Cesar Azpilicueta a tricky test.

Ibe created one chance, and completed three successful dribbles, bettered by only one Rams player in Johnny Russell.

The teenager has enjoyed a solid season out on loan with the Championship side so far, gaining vital experience before he heads back to Liverpool at the end of the season.

Perhaps it says something about Liverpool's current poor form, that fans were last night calling for him to be recalled, and comparing him to Raheem Sterling.

It certainly speaks volumes for Liverpool's new signings - and seeing him look lively against a side of Chelsea's calibre is enough to make most sit up and take notice.

It's easy to consider that he could probably be producing more for the Reds than Lazar Markovic has done, but the Serbian's slump since his £20 million move was not predicted. Keeping Ibe where he is right now is likely better for his long-term development rather than looking for a quick fix.

Here's a look at the reaction to Ibe's display...
