Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn has a number of things to consider halfway through the week.
Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn has a number of things to mull over looking ahead to the trip to Nottingham Forest this weekend.
Redfearn would have been disappointed by the way his side fell to a 1-0 defeat against Fulham last weekend and he’ll be desperate for the team to start improving their position on the Championship table.
Here are five mid-week talking points for the boss.
Leeds have been placed under a transfer embargo by the Football League, but there appear to be holes in the rules and regulations. Redfearn will want to get a grip on what the club is and isn’t allowed to do this winter so he can possibly plan for new players and exits.
Five goals conceded in the club’s last two games isn’t good enough. It’s important for the team to work hard defensively and tighten up because Forest have the players who can cash in and take advantage if the Whites are off the pace.
A concern for Redfearn at the moment will be how he prevents morale from dipping in the team, especially with his younger players. He needs to work extremely hard and find ways to prevent a negative atmosphere from affecting his youngsters.
He wasn’t at his best against Fulham and was asleep for Rodallega’s goal. His confidence could have taken a knock and Redfearn needs to keep one eye on his skipper to make sure he’s reacting and behaving in the right way.
With Christmas and New Year fast approaching, Redfearn has to assess his priorities. Are Leeds looking for a play-off spot or just to consolidate in the top half? It’s very nearly time for Leeds’ report after half of the Championship season.
